Description

Lupe Iule was the matriarch of the well known and highly regarded Iule family of silver artisans and favored creating Zuni crosses.   She was born at San Felipe Pueblo and was mentored by her husband Horace. San Felipe Pueblo is situated between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico, along the Rio Grande and just north of Bernalillo.  It has always been known as Katishtya by its indigenous inhabitants.  To learn more about the customs and culture of the San Felipe Pueblo people, click here.
