We are a small family owned and operated fabric and button making business just a few miles outside lovely Bellingham, Washington, the self proclaimed “City of Subdued Excitement.” We sell online both on this site and on Etsy. We do not have a walk in brick and mortar storefront. But, if you are ever in the neighborhood, we’d be glad to meet you at any one of the many local coffee shops.
Buttons-n-things began well over a decade ago when we—Patti and Joe—did a lot of craft work and sold our creations at regional arts and crafts fairs and expos. Our product line was largely for young children: baby quilts, bibs, and much more. It was great fun and we met many wonderful people along the way.
Over time, however, all the travel, loading and unloading inventory, and setting up and breaking down displays began to take its toll. It was time to redirect our energy. It was then we realized that we had managed to accumulate hundreds upon hundreds of bolts of fabrics and countless other notions. So…, what to do with it all? Half jokingly we thought, “Why not sell it online? It seems as though more and more commerce is being done on the internet.” The rest, as they say, is history.
